I cannot tell you how many times the doctors told her she would die. Sometimes, they gave her a couple of months. Sometimes, it was just a few weeks. At each appointment, the prognosis grew more grave. She had an inoperable brain tumor, they said to her, and there were few, if any options to save her.
She would not receive this energy. Each time the heavy news came, she simply looked her doctors in the eyes and told them, “It’s not up to you. Every breath I take is guided by a higher power.”
In many ways, this kind of resolve became my heritage. My mother has survived her brain tumor for more than 20 years, and remembering her steel resolve against dying has helped me visualize good health in order to aid in my own survival.
As I recently journeyed through my own health scare, I kept trying to find a way to go the spiritual places my mother must have gone in the throes of fighting cancerous tumors. I continued to ask myself, “What are the secret quotes she must have chanted to herself to keep breathing?” Though she knew nothing of the battle I had waged against the tumor in my own body, I drew her strong energy to me. Each time I wanted to break, I closed my eyes and saw myself healthy, moving through my own life as if I had all the solutions to wellness within me.
Soon, everything I saw behind closed lids began to happen for me. The iron levels in my blood rose so that I could have the surgery required to remove my tumor. I recovered quickly and returned to my routines.
I cannot say there is a single thought or action that moves you from crisis to healing. I only know that you do not move through a crisis successfully if your energy is totally focused on the crisis. You must also be able to see the other side of crisis. You must act as if you know the crisis will end and leave you stronger and in possession of whatever goodness you asked of the universe.
What are the secret quotes that get you where you need to go? Start with, “I am,” and say what you positively believe you are. Say, “I have,” and watch whatever you say manifest into your life. Say, “I give,” and watch it all come back to you threefold.
There is no greater marvel than speaking the good of your own life into being – especially if it involves saving your own life. As my mother has so gracefully proven, life and death are in the means of the mind and the power of the tongue. Be warned, speaking only of your desire will leave you only with desire.
You should always live for more than your own desire. The “secret” to changing your own reality lies in making an affirmative statement as if the thing you wish is already happening – as if you are living it right now.
